Abstract

Background and aims: To explore epidemiologic features and the related factors among children’s unintentional injury in Shanghai of China. Aims: To explore epidemiologic features and the related factors among children’s unintentional injury in Shanghai of China. Methods: 1189 children aged from 0-18 years old were investigated with self-made measurement. Results: Among 1189 cases of children’s unintentional injury ,the incidence rate of boy is 65.3% and girl is 34.7%.Fall took the leading type of incidence, account for 51.98%;the second type is collision injury(14.97%)and the third is transport-related injury(11.27%).most of unintentional injury were occurred in home. Difference in gender?age ?time?caregivers? environment and activities were significant statistically (p<0.05). Conclusions: The incidence rate of children’s unintentional injury were associated with children’s age?gender?time?caregivers?environment and activities. Children’s safety education and environment should be strengthened to reduce the incidence rate of children’s unintentional injury.
