Abstract
Hypoglycemia is a common complication of the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mainly related to specific antihyperglycemic therapies. Severe hypoglycemia can result in major sequelae. There is a paucity of literature on physicians’ attitudes and experiences with hypoglycemia. A large survey from North America provided useful information on the subject but did not include other parts of the world. This study sought to scope knowledge of hypoglycemia and accuracy in treatment decision-making of physicians from three developing regions with high rates of diabetes.
