Abstract

The problem of uncontrolled hyperglycemia in people with diabetes remains a challenge for many health care providers across the globe despite availability of several classes of antidiabetic agents. Due to several factors, insulin remains the mainstay of treatment for people with diabetes who cannot achieve glycemic targets on oral medicines or those who have type 1 diabetes. The darker side of the picture is that the insulin is perceived in the Pakistani society as a punishment rather than a therapy.
