Abstract

Hyperinsulinism-hyperammonemia syndrome (HI/HA) is one of the causes of hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia in young children, which is responsive to diazoxide and protein restriction. Hypoglycemia of various etiologies in young children can lead to impaired neurological development. Early diagnosis and hence accurate management, is extremely important to prevent significant sequelae. We present a case of HI/HA, showing the importance of implementing the accurate approach for hypoglycemia in reaching the right diagnosis.
