Abstract

Spontaneous hypothyroidism following medical treatment of Graves’ disease may occur in 5% to 20% of cases. Mechanisms include autoimmune thyroiditis or the development of thyrotropin receptor blocking antibodies. This report presents a case series of 4 patients with such infrequent phenomenon.
