Abstract
Polyglandular autoimmune syndrome type II (PAS II), also known as Schmidt syndrome, is an extremely rare endocrine disorder where autoimmune adrenal insufficiency is co-diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease and/or Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM). The prevalence for PASII is reported as 1.4 to 2.0 per 100,000 in the general population of USA.
