Abstract

In 2019, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education revised the common program requirements of residencies and fellowships to incorporate an understanding of “the social determinants of health (SDH) of the populations they serve and incorporate them in the design and implementation of the program curriculum, with the ultimate goal of addressing these needs and health disparities.” Trainees must recognize that understanding SDH is central in explaining health disparities that exist in the communities they serve and diseases they treat. However, SDH curriculum is informal. Here we seek to evaluate how programs distinguish their SDH curriculum to endocrinology fellowship applicant.
