Abstract

1. In heat treatment and subsequent reactivation of active carbons (AC), the concentration of primary sites for adsorption of water vapors decreases significantly in comparison to the starting samples. 2. In the region of small degrees of filling, the values of adsorption of water vapors on the starting and modified samples of AC are proportional to the concentration of primary adsorption sites. 3. In the region of high relative pressures, adsorption of water vapors increases rapidly, which levels the differences in the adsorption properties of AC with a different concentration of primary adsorption sites. 4. On prolonged storage, the modified samples “age” due to the reaction with the water vapors and oxygen in the air, which results in an increase in the concentration of primary adsorption sites.
