Abstract

An active absorption of hydrogen fluoride vapors by high-porous foam glasses produced by thermal activation of coal ashes is observed. The mechanisms of the processes involved are investigated by the magnetic resonance method and X-ray powder diffraction analysis. It is shown that incorporation of fluorine into the glass matrix is accompanied by its progressive destruction with the formation of microcrystalline and X-ray amorphous phases of individual chemical compounds.
