Abstract

The radiative Auger (RA) KLL spectra of silicon, phosphorus and sulphur (as silica, phosphate and sulphate) have been measured and compared with the corresponding ‘real’ Auger spectra. The extra features in the RA spectra, over and above those that can be directly correlated with peaks in the Auger spectra, are shown to correspond to the structure that can be observed in K edge absorption spectra, save only for one peak that is due to a transition to the KL 2,3 L 2,3 3 P.
