Abstract

The average absorption cross section (ACS) of a car in the frequency range of 80 MHz–24 GHz is measured in a reverberation chamber (RC) based on the time domain method. The measured ACS of a car is very useful: it can be used to predict the electric field strength in a given RC loaded with a car, which can accelerate the calibration process of the RC greatly. The measurement results are provided with uncertainties. Summary on potential applications is also given.
