Abstract
The theory of the wings of spectral lines is applied to the calculation of the absorption coefficient in the “near” wings of lines — microwindows of transparency of the 1.4- and 4.3-μm bands of CO2 in the case of self-broadening and broadening by N2, He, and Ar. A computational scheme is proposed which permits calculating the absorption coefficient for arbitrary frequency shifts. Satisfactory agreement with the experimental data is obtained.
