Abstract

The 10 cm absorbances of water and deuterium oxide were compared as a function of temperature from 0.8 to 1.8 mu . The results indicate that measurements of aqueous absorption spectra of metallic ions may be extended into the infrared by a factor of 1.4 in wave length by changing from light to heavy water media.
