Abstract
Absolute measurements of the magnetic-field-dependent nonresonant microwave absorption have been made in polycrystalline YBa 2Cu 3O 7−δ bulk samples. In low magnetic fields of several Oe the surface resistance at 9.4 GHz has the form of R= R 0+ βH 2 where β = (0.6−2) × 10 −3Ω/Oe 2 at 4.2 K and (3−8)Ω/Oe 2 at 77 K. These values agree rather well with calculations within the model of the effective Josephson medium.
