Abstract
Strengths of individual lines in the ν6 degenerate fundamental at 10 μm of methyl chloride have been measured at room temperature using a diode laser spectrometer. From these measurements we have determined by a linearized fit two significant intensity parameters, namely, the band strength, Sv0 = 15.06 ± 0.19 cm−2 atm−1 at 297 K and the parameter α = 0.0081 ± 0.0017 of the Herman-Wallis factor F = (1 + αKΔK + ···)2.
