Abstract

The strengths of 100 lines in the ν2 band of 12CH335Cl have been measured at high resolution in the region of 1350 cm−1, using a tunable diode-laser spectrometer. These intensities were obtained from the equivalent width method and by fitting Voigt profiles to the measured shapes of the lines. The latter method also provides the collisional widths of the lines. From these linestrength measurements, we have determined the absolute intensity of the ν2 band to be 33.46 ± 0.13 cm−2 atm−1, its transition dipole moment to be (5.006 ± 0.001) × 10−2 D, and the first Herman-Wallis factor to be (−3.05 ± 0.09) × 10−3.
