Abstract

Existing methods for the determination of the electrical conductivity of electrolytes require a cell calibration by an indirect method and the determination of their electrical resistance. A new conductivity cell is described which is a double differential cell with an adjustable constant. Using this cell, absolute determination of the conductivity of electrolytic solutions can be obtained over a wide temperature range. The influence of the frequency is either eliminated or greatly reduced in all other cases. The accuracy is at least as good as that obtained by indirect methods.
