Abstract

Precise theoretical transmission coefficients calculations provide an extremely good account of individual Wannier–Stark states splitting and localization effects, resolved recently in a highly accurate experiment for four and five period finite superlattices. At the same time, we show that the so-called Wannier–Stark ladders, predicted for nfinite systems are absent for finite superlattices. The observed energy levels are nothing else than the intra miniband energy levels.
