Abstract
This study was performed to detect the association between the Asp299Gly and Thr399Ile polymorphisms of the TLR4 gene and type 2 diabetes in the Chinese Han population. The study included 856 unrelated individuals with type 2 diabetes and 672 healthy controls. The polymorphisms of the TLR4 gene were examined through denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography. Neither the Asp299Gly nor the Thr399Ile polymorphism was detected in any of the diabetic and healthy subjects. Our finding indicates the Asp299Gly and Thr399Ile polymorphisms of the TLR4 gene are very rare in the Chinese Han population.
