Abstract
A pronounced difference between 7Li nuclear spin relaxation and Li ion conductivity relaxation in a superionic lithium chloroborate glass has been observed and explained theoretically by the coupling model. An extension of the theoretical ideas to spin relaxation of nuclei tied permanently to the glassy matrix indicates that the pronounced difference with conductivity relaxation found for the mobile ion nuclear spin relaxation will no longer exist. 11B nuclear spin relaxation data in the same lithium chloroborate glass are used to support this prediction.
