Abstract

The size and shape of a new soccer stadium in Tianjin, China, will enable the region to host international as well as local competitions, including games that will form part of the 2008 Olympics. In addition to its suspended roof and sleek steel exterior, the stadium features triangular arched trusses that stand on end behind and above the seating areas to support the roof.
