ABOUT THE RESULTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGINEERING AND ECOLOGICAL GEOLOGY AT LOMONOSOV MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY IN 2008–2017 YEARS (for the 80th anniversary of the Department of Engineering and Ecological Geology)

Abstract

Тhe stages of the development of engineering and ecological structure of the department, results of educational, scientific and scientific-organizational work at Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2008–2017 are described. The state and public recognition of the staff of the department is characterized. The main goal of the academic work of the department in 2008–2017 remained the preparation of graduates in two profiles of the geological specialty: Hydrogeology and engineering geology and Ecological geology, as well as candidates of sciences through postgraduate study. In total for this period 430 people with higher education were graduated, including 225 bachelors, 30 graduates, 175 masters. Among the undergraduates, 114 people were trained in the master's program Engineering Geology, 20 — and geophysics of metropolis and large urban agglomerations, 20 — Soil science and artificial lithogenesis, 21 — Ecological geology. Since 2015, the department issued 25 bachelors who graduated from the Dushanbe Moscow State University branch. At the same time, 40 people entered the post-graduate department (10 of them were in distance education). Among the enrolled students 19 people finished postgraduate studies in 2016, 4 of them successfully defended their Ph.D. theses on time. In addition to them, 8 former postgraduate students defended their thesis. Doctoral thesis defended 2 people. Statistical data on the scientific publication activity of the staff of the department in 2008–2016 are: reports were made at conferences and meetings — 746; published monographs (cathedrals) — 15; monographs of other departments, in the writing of which the staff of the department took part — 12; textbooks and teaching aids (cathedrals) — 16; textbooks and teaching aids of other divisions, in the writing of which the staff of the department took part — 7; published articles in journals — 556, among them articles in journals from the list of VAK — 384, articles in collections — 466; theses — 580. The department organized 5 scientific conferences, took part in the preparation of 20 scientific conferences. Among the fundamentally new developments are three-volume works Engineering Geology of Russia and Ecological and geological conditions of Russia and a textbook Ecological Geology.
