Abstract

A simulational study was performed in order to determine the permittivity of the metamaterial composites with potential negative values of this parameter on different frequency subdomains in microwave range (20-60 GHz). Our study is based on the theoretical considerations (Veselago, Zouhdi et al., etc.) which give us the structure characteristics and conditions necessary for obtaining negative electric permittivity. The periodical arrays of copper wires were considered, implemented on a ferrite slab which ensures the corresponding negative values for the magnetic permeability in a frequency domain which overlaps the domain with negative permittivity. The permittivity curves obtained by the structural simulation method differs of the theoretical curves less than 4 % and confirm the viability of the method.
