Abstract

One of the key recommendations of the Geo-Impuls program, which investigated possibilities to complete more construction projects within time and budget, is to anchor geotechnical risk management in an explicit way within the project (risk) management structure. Geo-Impuls acknowledges that this puts specific demands on the project management structure. Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) might provide this structure. The paper discusses the possibilities offered by Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to anchor geotechnical risk management explicitly within the project management structure.
