Abstract
Methods of analysis of neutron transmission data in time-of-flight spectrometry are examined, with particular attention to the experimental conditions which should be satisfied for a correct estimation of resonance parameters and errors. To improve the applicability of the shape-analysis method in the work performed with the fast neutron chopper of Ispra, the resolution function of this spectrometer was determined in a detailed way. The main features of the analysis methods applied to the experimental data obtained at Ispra are presented and illustrated by examples.
