Abstract

Mineralization of various metals (Au, Ag, U, Ba, Mo, PB, Zn) and others are known in the Kokshetau Sredinny massif in the deposits of the Sharyk suite of the Riphean. Along with them, iron ore in the form of siderite ores is noted in a number of ore occurrences of the region. Siderites are confined to various deposits of the Sharyk Formation. The morphology of siderite ores varies from lenticular to bedded. Rich ores are noted at contact with intrusive formations. The genesis is sedimentary, contact-metamorphic, hypergene. The geology, genesis and prospects of siderite ores are substantiated, which can replenish the reserves of ferrous metals with the complex extraction of mineral raw materials in the region.
