Abstract
AboutKidsHealth! (AKH) is an initiative launched in 2004 by the Hospital for Sick Children (familiarly called SickKids), one of the largest pediatric teaching hospitals in the world. The goal of the site is to provide families with reliable, current information about all areas influencing child health and family quality of life in an easy-to-understand format. AKH includes four resource centres, current research news, feature articles and series of interest to all families, a health A-Z library covering hundreds of conditions, and an extensive “Just for Kids” section featuring over 130 minutes of interactive animations. The information and articlesonAKH have been developed by a teamofexperts and go through an editorial review process involving both health care professionals and parents of children living with various health conditions.
