Abstract

Many equity investors looking for higher returns at a lower cost have turned to factor investing. After identifying other risk factors in addition to the market component, alternative portfolio construction techniques were created to compensate for the inefficiencies of market-cap strategies. By analyzing the current literature and examining how well factor strategies performed, this research article seeks to provide a formal foundation for this important theme in asset management.
