Abstract

Introduction: Nasal dermoid sinus cysts (NDSC) are rare midline congenital lesions. They are sometimes associated with intracranial extension. Many surgical approaches have been reported, from vertical midline nasal dorsum incisions to combined coronal incision with frontal craniectomy. Case Reports: We report on two pediatric cases, one with intracranial extension, completely excised through an open rhinoplasty approach complemented with transnasal endoscopic surgery. Conclusion: The early complete removal of these lesions is essential in order to avoid the high recurrence rates. The open rhinoplasty approach complemented by transnasal endoscopic surgery is a valid solution in cases with limited intracranial extension.
