Abstract

Objective: To identify evidence regarding the preventive approach and outpatient use of the use of nitazoxanide, ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19. Methods: Summary of evidence with search performed at Pubmed and Medrxiv. In the absence of studies on preventive and outpatient use, the mechanism of action of the medication was explained. Results: The number of studies that address the prophilatic use is low. Three articles on nitazoxanide, six on ivermectin and six on hydroxychloroquine were included. Conclusions: The prophylactic use of the medications addressed by the present study should be evaluated in observational studies or randomized clinical trials of good quality.
