Abstract
Abnormal response to irradiation dose of E′ center of quartz in coastal eolian sand was observed. The abnormalities generally occur in most (> 90%) of the more than 100 measured samples of the coastal eolian sand of China. We suggest that the abnormal response to irradiation dose of E′ center of quartz can be used as an indicator to distinguish coastal eolian sand and may be related to the special sedimentation environment of coastal eolian sand.
