Abstract

The behavior of Quaternary symmetric ammonium compounds and hydroxides in aqueous and water-alcohol solutions depending on the length of the radical and the nature of the counterion was studied using electrical conductivity and cryoscopy methods. The anomalous nature of the dependence of molar electrical conductivity on the concentration for ammonium hydroxides has been established, which is explained by the presence in solutions of both ion pairs of different nature and their associates, even in environments with high polarizing capacity.
