Abstract

When serum is added to mixtures of various proportions of acetic acid and sodium vanadate, different forms of precipitation result. Herein lies the principle of Bendien's "lability reaction." Jettmar describes the effects on the blood corpuscles of various species by acetic acid and sodium vanadate mixtures; also the effects of such mixtures on micro-organisms in suspension. The results are of interest to students of chemicocolloid reactions in general.
