Abstract

Cases of abdominal bloating and distension are frequently seen in acute and emergency medicine. Although ascites remain a common cause, other differentials such as bladder distension, intestinal obstruction or masses, fecal loading, gynecological tumors and rarely, pregnancy in women of childbearing age group, must be considered. In this article we illustrate an unusual cause of abdominal distension.
