Abstract
Purpose Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, with more than 265 million players globally. In the US, more than 24 million people play soccer. Over the last quarter of a century, nearly 3 million children were treated in the US Emergency Departments for soccer-related injuries. Though rare, soccer related-abdominal organ injuries can be a potentially serious cause of morbidity in children. We describe 14 patients who presented to the College of Medicine Emergency Department with soccer-related abdominal organ injuries. …
