Abstract
Rapid serial filming usually requires short exposures, e.g., 0·1 second at the rate of three films per second—a limit determined by the time interval when the film is motionless in the changer. If high capacity generators are not available to give adequate mAs, the only method of producing films of adequate density is to increase the kilovoltage. This technique results in low contrast radiographs and poor quality contrast density. The obese patient is particularly difficult to examine because of this problem.
