Abstract

A 25 year-old man without past medical history presented to the Emergency Department (ED) complaining of the sudden onset of severe, dull abdominal pain in the left upper quadrant. He described the pain as deep and 8 out of 10 in severity. He stated that the pain was non-radiating, and was accompanied by nausea. The pain was intermittent, and lasted for approximately 5 min per episode. There were no exacerbating or alleviating factors. He denied hematuria, dysuria, or flank pain.
