Abstract

THE development of surgical methods for the management of diseases of the heart and blood vessels ranks as one of the outstanding medical achievements of the past decade. It is unlikely, however, that these advances in cardiovascular surgery would have come about without parallel advances in medical diagnosis, not the least important of which has been the development of angiography as an accurate and safe method of investigation of diseases of the vascular system.There are today few major vessels and organs in the body that cannot be investigated by means of angiography.
