Abstract
Brugada syndrome (BS) is characterized by a typical ECG pattern and risk of sudden death. It has been linked to mutations in SCN5A gene. Some patients have a normal ECG at baseline and require a provocation test with a Na+ channel blocker to unmask the ECG abnormalities. However, their diagnostic value is only partially known and there are reports on ventricular arrhythmias induced by these tests.
