Abstract

The new version of a consistent approach to the description of non-rearrangement collisions of fast ions with few-electron atoms has been presented. The solution of the few-body problem has been effected in the framework of the operator approach developed earlier (Sidorovich, Physica Scripta, in print). The study of the collision process has been carried out in the impact-parameter picture. As an application the double-electron transitions induced in fast collisions of protons and antiprotons with helium atoms have been investigated.
