Abstract
A totally ab initio potential energy curve for Ar 2 is constructed by adding individually damped dispersion terms to an accurate single configuration self-consistent-field repulsive interaction curve. However, the well depth (77 cm −1) of our computed curve is significantly less than the experimentaly deduced value (99.4 cm −1)
