Abstract

The two-photon absorption cross section of X 1Σ g + → 1Σ g + of H 2 has been computed using near full Cl wavefunctions. The convergence of the two-photon transition amplitude is achieved by enforcing the variational wavefunctions to satisfy the off-diagonal S(O) and S(−1) sum rules. The theoretical cross section agrees well with experiment.
