Abstract
As I prepare to turn over the presidency to Scott Fishman, MD, in February, I wanted to take the opportunity to provide updates on several AAPM initiatives. The 2005 Program Committee has developed another outstanding, comprehensive educational program on Pain Medicine. Three distinctive preconference seminars will be offered covering topics such as practice management, opioids, and advanced neuromodulation. New this year, the review courses, for those new to Pain Medicine or those preparing for certification through a thorough review of key topics, will run concurrently with the Update Sessions. The Update Sessions will be designated for practicing pain specialists with more experience in the field. These sessions are planned to be interactive with point/counterpoint formats and case studies.
