Abstract
Four out of six sessions of Section W at the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, January 26–31, 1975, in New York will focus on aspects of weather‐climate modification. Topics of the other two sessions are ‘The Atmospheric and Hydrospheric Sciences in Transition’ and ‘Lead: Its Sources, Transport, Sinks, and Impacts.’Subjects of scheduled papers include urban weather anomalies and Metromex, Global Atmospheric Research Program (GARP), GARP Atlantic Tropical Experiment (GATE), International Field Year of the Great Lakes (IFYGL), environmental impact of weather modification, managing the atmosphere—emerging science policy needs, and economic characteristics of weather modification technology.
