Abstract

In a American Association for the Advancement of Science colloquium held recently in Washington, D.C., D. Allan Bromley, Director of the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy, asked the scientific community for its support in upcoming budget battles. He also described the Bush Administration's policy‐making apparatus for science matters and discussed the inadequate financial support for small science. Also at the meeting, Sandra D.
