Abstract

In this work, we present a 1×8 ultra-wideband array antenna that is composed of eight Vivaldi antenna units, and represented by the digital-coding method. The simulation results verify that the relative bandwidth (S11<-10 dB) of such an array antenna is approximately 85.7% (4 to 10 GHz). Also, the array antenna can realize accurate symmetric-beam frequency scanning and the scanning angle ranges from 21° to 54° (-21° to -54°) when the frequency changes from 4 to 10 GHz.
