Abstract

A protocol consisted of normaxia, ischemia, and reperfusion was employed to obtain the myocardial apoptosis signals by identifying different mitochondrial redox states. Ischemia in rabbit heart was induced by LAD occlusion and fluorescent signals are collected by applying two different fluorescence techniques: fluorometry, and cryoimaging. The first one is employed to detect FP (Flavoprotein) and NADH (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucletide) signals in vivo during the experiments and the latter one used for low temperature fluorescence imaging.
