Abstract

Currently, the standard diagnostic criteria for SAD is <70% of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes with antibody titers ≥1.3 ug/ml post-Pneumovax immunization. Historically, different diagnostic methods assessing fold increases in antibody levels were utilized, leading to a wide-ranging reported prevalence of SAD. This study compares the different diagnostic methods for SAD to evaluate the generalizability of previous epidemiology studies.
