Abstract

This paper reviews a zero-shifting technique and its synthesis applications. Essentially, the technique is to add a suitable constant to a non-minimum phase function to convert it into a minimum phase function without affecting the poles. It is illustrated that the technique is quite powerful in realizing passive and active voltage transfer functions, sinusoidal oscillators and simulating RL impedances with considerably reduced number of elements. In the process, many novel circuits are obtained some of which are generalizations over the others hitherto appeared for realizing a restricted class of functions.
