Abstract
The molecule of the title compound (C 5 H 4 N 2 O 4 ) is practically planar; the dihedral angles between the ring plane and the planes of the nitro group and the aldoxime group are 5.0(3) and 4.4(3)°, respectively. Intermolecular O4-H4...N2 hydrogen bonds, with O-H = 0.96 (5), H...N = 1.89 (5), N...O = 2.827 (5) A and O-H...N = 164(1)°, connect molecules into infinite chains along the b axis.
